Beginning Monday, December 1, 2008, Colorado Beagle Rescue will be closed until Monday, January 5, 2009, so our dedicated volunteers can celebrate the holidays with their families and their own little beagles. We will check our phones and emails on a daily basis but ask that you please contact us after the first of the year if you are interested in adopting or relinquishing a beagle to us. If there is an emergency situation regarding a beagle, we will contact you as soon as we can. If you need to relinquish your beagle and cannot wait for our return, please call the Denver Dumb Friends League and they will be able to help you.
If you are thinking of buying a Christmas puppy, PLEASE be sure and read the attached article Puppies Are Not For Everyone. It will give you valuable information you need before making such an important decision. Watch this video before you make your decision. Click HERE.
We also attach a heartfelt poem for all to read called Twas The Night Before Christmas. This poem has been revised from the dog’s point of view and will hopefully remind everyone how important it is to be a responsible guardian for these wonderful creatures.
Our wish to all our adopting families and volunteers is for a blessed Christmas, much happiness in the New Year and for 2009 to be a year of peace and tranquility for all. _________________
Plea for Funds
CBR has had a great many medical expenses this year with rescue beagles needing spay/neuter surgeries, ACL surgeries, and many more medical procedures. Like every rescue organization during these difficult economic times, our funds have been hit hard and we find our cash flow drastically low. We need your help! If you can make a donation to CBR, many more beagles can be helped and we will be able to continue our work of saving these incredible dogs and making sure they are healthy when they go to their forever homes. Remember, CBR is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Volunteers receive no compensation for the work they do. This is a pure labor of love for the beagle breed. If you can help, please make checks payable to Colorado Beagle Rescue and send to Carol Larmore, 4755 West 102nd Place, Westminster, CO 80031. It's so important that our organization is out there for the beagle breed. Sometimes, we are the only chance they have for a good life. Please find it in your heart to help us. Your donation will make such a difference in a little dog's life.

Before and After Pictures of Earl!
During this past summer, Earl came to Colorado Beagle Rescue after we received a call from the Colorado Veterinary Specialists telling us of his sad story of being left on the steps of a church with a broken femur. Apparently, the owner did not think they could afford to take care of him and were hoping someone at the church would help this little guy. The police were called and he was brought to the vet clinic where a call was made to Beagle Rescue asking us to take him, pay for the surgery and place him into a foster home for his post surgery recovery and then get him well enough to find him a forever home. A pretty tall order for us!
After we made a commitment to help this puppy and successful surgery was completed on his leg, Kimberly Craven and her daughter took in Earl and helped him through his post surgery recovery. He was confined to a kennel for a period of 6 weeks and during that time Kim and her daughter fell in love with Earl and have decided that they want to adopt him! YEA!
As you can see Earl is a happy, healthy beagle and now has a good life with a loving family. While Earl’s surgery was a success, it cost Beagle Rescue approximately $3,500! Because of Colorado Beagle Rescue, Earl was given a second chance. In the beginning his prognosis was not good and he probably would have been euthanized if CBR had not been able to step in. The $$ that we put towards Earl's recovery has impacted our checking account and we now find that our funds have been greatly depleted given that we have had other surgeries that have had to be paid. To those of you who made donations to help Earl, we are so grateful. If you are able to help us replenish our funds, we can continue our work and help these little ones who come to us looking for that second chance at life. Just look at Earl and see what a difference rescue has meant for him!

Welcome to the Colorado Beagle Rescue
CBR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt, tax-deductible organization operated by volunteers dedicated to the welfare of the Beagle breed. relies completely on donations to support itself. When a beagle is placed in a new home a donation is requested in order to help with the expenses of running the rescue service - spaying, neutering, advertising, veterinary care, tags, books, administrative expenses, etc.
To meet a CBR dog, you must come to the location where the dog is kept or arrange for transportation. There is no facility available to house the dogs that are available for adoption. Dogs are kept in their own home, foster home, kennel, or shelter until adopted.
